Basic guidelines to promote your listings

To ensure better conversions and sales for your products, it’s important that a number of key points are constantly worked on from within the backend and control of your account. Here is a good list of things that you can maintain focus on to increase a better experience for customers!

Pricing is a very important factor when it comes to buyers making purchasing decisions.

This is especially true when it comes to popular or high demand products.

When setting your price, several factors should be taken into consideration. Most importantly though, you need to maintain good margins to ensure sustainability, but remembering not to overprice your products to the point it creates distastes that it ruins your brand & customer interaction.

  1. Provide sale prices on surplus or outdated stock
  2. Provide a value add promo with a side offer to maintain margins
  3.  Run regular promotions on other channels to lead them to a deal

Please note: eziMoon pricing policy – price gauging or heavy inflation may result in your products being rejected or if multiple offences occurred may be cause for your account to be suspended temporarily or indefinite)

EziMoon rewards merchants that are active and offer new products on an ongoing basis. Our algorithm favours merchants that regularly list new products, so keeping your listings fresh will help increase your sales on EziMoon

Buyers normally use very specific search terms when looking for items on EziMoon. Ask yourself what words people are likely to search for when looking for what you’re selling. Also, ensure you do your research to see common searches related to your products.

Once you have three to five keywords, it’s important to include them in your store description, page titles, meta tags, image alt tags, etc. But refrain from keyword spamming (using words or details that are not related to your items); it violates EziMoon’s policy.

Providing free shipping is a fantastic way to increase sales, but ensure you check the cost before you offer it.

Look at the available options at your country’s postal service. Normally, small and light items are able to be sent for a fixed price which expedites eCommerce shipping. By adding that to the price you can cover the shipping expense without needing to add shipping fees.

Customers like seeing the things they bought are on their way as soon as possible, so have a system in place that ensures a speedy delivery.

For example, you can save time every day or every week to send your products. Check out EziMoon’s shipping options to see what’s available through the platform.

A strict return policy can be a turnoff for buyers when they’re considering making a purchase.

Ratings are a significant factor when it comes to how EziMoon determines who is shown as a top seller. Getting a ton of positive reviews doesn’t happen overnight, though. You need to consistently provide fantastic customer service.

From a buyer’s perspective, they want to have a clear understanding of what they’re buying before they make a purchase. That’s why it’s important that you include photos of the items you’re listing from different angles, including close-ups so that it’s easy for them to see each item in detail.

With so many merchants on EziMoon, one of your differentiating factors is how well you treat your customers. That’s why offering superb customer service is critical. A quick response time coupled with a positive attitude will help you sell more.

Maintain a positive attitude not only when you receive good reviews but also when a customer is unhappy. Ensure customers can contact you easily and respond quickly when they do. Strive to deliver a solution quickly and acknowledge when you’ve made a mistake.

Image Quality and Dimensions

When uploading images to your store, please ensure you adhere to the following image dimension & guidelines:

  • Store logo: 125 x 125 pixels
  • Store banner: 1650 x 350 pixels
  • Mobile banner: 520

Sites containing high quality images in addition to their relevant and unique content will get more views than those that are just text based. … High quality images will help convert your leads by; Increasing user engagement. Decreasing bounce rate, Adding great images is a simple and effective way you can improve your site’s user experience.

(Permitted) lighters may only be listed if they are equipped with a child-resistant mechanism.

Hoverboards, self-balancing scooters and components or parts such as batteries and chargers must comply with Consumers Goods Safety Standard 2018 that sets out safety requirements. Self-balancing scooters must be certified to meet the UL 2272 safety standards. Sellers must state in the listing that the item is UL 2272 certified by including a link to the UL Online Certifications Directory showing the certification, and can only offer postage to USA, Canada and Australia.

Before you list an item, take a few minutes to check the manufacturer’s website to get information on recalled items. You need to check whether the product is subject to an Australian mandatory safety standard and if so, whether your item meets the requirements of the standard. You should provide clear and accessible product safety information (labels, warnings, descriptions) in your item description.

Please visit the Product Safety Australia website for more information about:

Australia’s product safety laws, including:

  • Mandatory safety standards
  • Product bans
  • Responsible sourcing of products
  • Product recalls in Australia, including a searchable database of recalled items. We recommend that you also sign up to receive email alerts about item recalls.

Buyers should also keep up-to-date about item mandatory standards, bans and product safety recalls, especially for the kinds of items they often buy.

Sellers of gas or electrical appliances should advise their customers to register their appliance with the manufacturer so they can be informed of any important product safety updates. For more information, please visit the Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council (ERAC).

The sale or installation of faulty Takata airbags is prohibited under the Takata compulsory recall. If a person is involved in a collision with a vehicle containing a faulty Takata airbag, the airbag can go off with too much explosive force causing sharp metal fragments to shoot out and kill or seriously injure people in the vehicle. Suppliers of spare parts must not sell faulty Takata airbags and must check and notify the manufacturer if you have a faulty Takata airbag in your possession, so they can retrieve the part. To check if an airbag is affected, go to the Product Safety Australia website.

However, the law does shed light on the ways in which dealers and collectors can legally purchase or sell coins and other relics or artefacts. Visit the Department of the Environment and Energy website for more information about the Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976 and possessing and exporting historic shipwreck relics.

Autographed items, normally bought and sold on EziMoon, are unique in that they can be highly valuable yet easily forged. EziMoon endeavours to uphold a marketplace that is safe for both merchants and customers of autographs and has established the following guidelines and policies intended to protect you, the members of our community.

Autographs are commonly sold with so-called “Certificates of Authenticity” (COA), which are intended to offer the buyer some assurances that the autograph was indeed properly signed by the person(s) in question. However, COAs are only as valuable as the reputation of the issuing party. Literally, anyone can offer a COA, so it is imperative that savvy customers examine the background of each “authenticator”. Blank COAs are not allowed and certificates of authenticity may NOT be sold as a stand-alone item.

Disciplinary action

EziMoon reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove any autographed item listed on its site and refund the associated listing fee, if EziMoon deems that the listing of the item is inconsistent with EziMoon ’s goal of offering a safe trading environment, or if in its sole discretion EziMoon believes that the sale of the item might produce liability for the customer, the merchant, or any third-party.

EziMoon may also look for an opinion from a disinterested third-party concerning any autograph listing. If the 3rd party has any apprehensions about the authenticity of the listing, EziMoon may at its sole discretion, remove the listing from the site. Sellers whose autographs have been repeatedly recognised as problematic may be warned, put on probation, or suspended from all EziMoon buying and selling activity, at EziMoon’s sole discretion.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation
  • Limits on account privileges
  • Account suspension
  • Forfeit of EziMoon fees on cancelled listings

Authentication

Autographs are commonly sold with “Certificates of Authenticity” (COA), which are meant to assure the buyer that the signature is genuinely made by the person claimed. However, COAs are only as valuable as the reputation of the issuing party. Anyone can offer a COA, so it is imperative to inspect the background of each.

Listing guidelines

EziMoon strongly suggests that merchants selling autographs include all pertinent information in their listings about the autograph and the item it appears on, including:

  • A clear, scanned image of the actual autographed item for sale.
  • All appropriate information about the Certificate of Authenticity (if the signature or item has been authenticated), including the name of the person or company issuing the certificate.
  • A scan of the Certificate of Authenticity (if the signature or item has been authenticated)
  • Merchant’s refund policy—in case any reputable dealer (including those dealers listed in the relevant authentication section of EziMoon) find that the item is likely not authentic.

Activity that does not follow EziMoon’s policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or cancelling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.

Normally, you can resell tickets to entertainment events – including sporting events, concerts and plays – on EziMoon. Nevertheless, when you list a ticket on EziMoon, you’re liable for ensuring that selling your item doesn’t violate any related laws.

Make sure that you follow the specific guidelines for ticket resale – including resale pricing – in the event’s location. ACT, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria have specific laws concerning the resale of tickets for certain events.

Listings for tickets to free events and “declared events” in Victoria are not permitted.

Advice for cancelled or postponed events

  • If you bought a ticket to an event and

  • The event was postponed: If a customer opens a case for a ticket refund, we encourage you to work with the customer to resolve the issue. If the event is rescheduled, you may be able to get a refund from the ticket outlet, or you can relist the tickets.

For more details on getting a refund, contact the ticket outlet where you originally bought your ticket.

WELS Products

The Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards Act 2005 (WELS Act) is Australia’s water efficiency labelling scheme that requires certain products to be registered and labelled with their water efficiency in accordance with the standard set under this regulation.

The WELS Act requires that all new WELS products (such as showers, tap and toilet equipment, clothes washing machines and dishwashers) be supplied as they are registered, and the water efficiency information be displayed in the listing. See the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) scheme website for additional details and to check registrations.

If you supply or sell WELS products, you need to make sure that the products:

  • Are registered with the WELS Regulator and the product has a correct WELS label in accordance with section 20 of the WELS Act; and
  • Have their labels or water rating information remain fully visible on or adjacent to products while they are offered for sale

In order to list WELS products on the Piptle Store, sellers must meet the requirements of the WELS Act.

GEMS Products

Australia’s Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012 (GEMS Act) sets registration, minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) and energy labelling requirements for a range of appliances and equipment such as televisions, dishwashers, certain lighting products, three-phase electric motors and computers. The Energy Rating website contains a full list of regulated products and their specific requirements.

Under the GEMS Act, all models covered by the regulation must be registered prior to being supplied. Further information on the registration process is available on the Energy Rating website.

Products that do not meet these requirements cannot be supplied in Australia. Please note that the GEMS Act contains a range of penalties for non-compliance.

Moreover, some products – for example, some incandescent tungsten filament lamps (light bulbs) – are also covered by Customs import prohibitions and cannot be imported into Australia without written permission granted by the relevant Minister or an authorised officer.

GEMS products may be listed on EziMoon, provided they meet the requirements of the GEMS Act.

Some incandescent tungsten filament GLS lamps are subject to an import restriction. They must not be imported into Australia without written permission from the relevant Minister.

Merchants need to conform to any applicable laws and regulations. You can find important information about regulations concerning some of the hazardous materials mentioned in this policy in the Australian National Security guidance for chemical security.

The business of arranging and selling travel, holiday packages and other travel services is complex and heavily regulated in a lot of countries around the world.

The guidelines below explain who may list travel and travel services on the EziMoon, as well as specific guidelines for different types of services – including air, train and sea travel; public transportation tickets; hotel, spa, and resort stays; holiday packages; and gift certificates and travel vouchers.

A lot of travel tickets and vouchers are not transferable, and sellers should review any travel-related item before listing to make sure that it can be transferred legally to another party and will be accepted by the issuing provider of travel services.

Sellers listing travel services on EziMoon must clearly show any relevant travel advisory issued by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in their listing.

Sellers who list travel services on EziMoon are responsible for ensuring that their listing complies with the law, including the law in their particular State or Territory relating to the provision of such services.

  • The following disclaimer:
  • “By listing this item/service I verify that I am the actual travel agent or travel provider and not a third party affiliate. The travel/accommodations in this listing will be booked directly through me and not an outside agency. I also verify that, other than the government taxes and related government fees stated within the listing description itself, there will be absolutely no additional fees, charges or after-sale purchases associated with booking the travel within this listing.”

Safe buying

As always when shopping on EziMoon, take some time to read the listing carefully and look into the seller’s Feedback. In addition, we recommend doing your own research before purchasing travel services. There are many websites where you can read reviews of travel services and accommodation, find advice about your destination and get other tips for an enjoyable holiday.

If you’re buying from a travel agent, read the information they’ve provided about their licence and membership in any professional organisation. The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) represents most travel agents in Australia, and members must abide by the AFTA Code of Ethics.

Safe travels

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) promotes the safe travel of Australians overseas and provides travel advice for countries and events. While it is every individual traveller’s responsibility to adequately prepare for overseas travel, we also require sellers listing travel services on EziMoon to clearly display any relevant travel advisory from the Australian Government in their listing.

If you’re planning to travel, check out DFAT’s information for travellers for tips on staying safe and healthy, travelling responsibly and what to do should things go wrong.
